Introduction – A Dream Built on Hard Work

Some people are born into a business, and others build it from the ground up—nail by nail, roof by roof, lesson by lesson. Our story is one of resilience, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to family. This is how Moreno Building & Renovations came to be.

A Foundation Built on Hard Work

Mauricio, the heart and soul of our business, grew up in Mexico City as the fifth of six children. With three brothers and three sisters, it was practically the Mexican Brady Bunch! But in his family, there was one undeniable truth—everyone had to contribute. Hard work wasn’t just expected, it was a way of life. From a young age, Mauricio learned the value of dedication, the importance of doing things right the first time, and the satisfaction that comes from putting in an honest day's work.

Life had a way of guiding him toward his future, even in the most unexpected ways. One day, Mauricio’s future father-in-law injured his ankle and needed help getting home. Always willing to lend a hand, Mauricio stepped in—and in the process, met the woman who would become the love of his life. It’s a classic boy-from-one-side-of-the-tracks-meets-girl-from-the-other love story, and the rest is history.

A Leap of Faith – Coming to the U.S.

In 1993, Mauricio and his wife welcomed their first child, and like any devoted father, he wanted to provide the very best for his growing family. Within a year, he made the brave decision to move to Oklahoma City, working alongside his older brother in construction. It was here that he started to master the skills that would one day become his life’s work—roofing, renovations, and home improvement.

Mauricio spent every single day working hard, soaking in every technique, every tip, and every trade secret he could learn. His hands built homes, but more importantly, they built a future.

In 2014, Mauricio moved his family to Central Arkansas, which has now become our forever home. His hard work and sacrifices have shaped not only his own journey but also the lives of his children. Today, his son is a firefighter for North Little Rock FD, and his two daughters work at Arkansas Children's Hospital, serving their community with the same dedication they saw growing up. His grandkids are now part of the North Little Rock School District, and soon, they’ll all be walking the same school hallways their father and aunts once did.

When Life Throws You a Curveball – Keep Building

Mauricio has always been the type to roll up his sleeves and figure things out, no matter the challenge. That mentality was tested in a way no one could have expected.

Years ago, a traumatic accident left him without four fingers on one hand. Most people would have taken a step back—reconsidered their work, slowed down. But Mauricio? He was back on the job in less than a week. His hands, despite what they had lost, were still capable of building, fixing, and creating. His passion for the craft never wavered. If anything, it only grew stronger.

That same grit and determination were tested again in 2020, when the pandemic hit. In addition to his construction and renovation work, Mauricio also owned a commercial cleaning business, primarily serving restaurants and movie theaters. When businesses shut down, so did much of his cleaning work. But instead of letting that be the end of something, Mauricio pivoted, pouring everything into expanding his construction business.

Because that’s who he is. When life shifts, he adapts. When obstacles appear, he finds a way forward. That’s the kind of person you want working on your home—someone who doesn’t back down from a challenge and treats every project like it’s his own.

The Heart of Our Business – Family and Community

At the core of Moreno Building & Renovations is family. This isn’t just a business—it’s a legacy. Mauricio didn’t build this company alone. He built it with the support of his wife, children, and grandchildren—the very people who inspire him every single day.

If he’s not on a roof, painting a house, or soft-washing a home, you’ll find him spending time with his grandkids, helping a neighbor with a project, or searching for a good deal at a flea market (because let’s be honest, he can’t resist a bargain!). He also loves a good joke about his missing fingers—so if you’ve got one, he’s all ears!

Our business is built on the values of hard work, integrity, and affordability. We understand that home projects can be overwhelming, and we’re here to make it easier for homeowners by offering:

A Business Built to Serve

When Mauricio first came to the U.S., he had one goal—to build a better future for his family. What he didn’t realize was that he would also be helping so many other families along the way.

Today, Moreno Building & Renovations is more than just a company. It’s the result of decades of dedication, learning, and sheer determination. It’s a business founded on the belief that every homeowner deserves high-quality work at a price they can afford.
